October 11,2008, Anita's Kitchen in America. For the Fil-Am Charities Foundation, I decided to cook American Foods. The menu : Breaded Oysters, Salmon with Apple Butter, Cajun Oven Fried Chicken, fruits and Mango Float for dessert. I had help from my friends Janine Dinio and Chuchi Lokken. I had to work in the morning, rush home at 2:30, shucked the oysters while salmon was in the oven. The oysters were served on the bleached oyster shells I collected and saved. The dishes were all different to break the monotony of having matching dishes. They were the conversation pieces and what can I think next? Everything turned out delicious and the hospitality of Anita's Kitchen included take home to the family, dishes and all but the teapot collections stayed.
I had ANITA'S KITCHEN tarpaulen covering the beautiful arts of Janine on her wall.
One dinner done, the next will be the Halloween dinner on October 17.
