The affair was held at the COLUMN CONDOMINIUM in Makati. This was sponsored by Carlos Caramanzana of New York and all preparations were done by the OFCI President, Anita Schon, through the internet beginning September of 2008.The caterer did all the table settings, and foods and drinks were enough to feed 150 people. 7 guests speakers were alloted 10 minutes each which was followed to the letter. Ground zero volunteers were Mark Dario,Noli Benavent, Angel Pantoja and Leo Santiago.
The GETTING TO KNOW YOU was a huge success, as was monitored by Anita by phone and the internet. The Rondalla group is the award winning ARELLANO HIGH SCHOOL RONDALLA who had won competitions in Asia and all over the Philippines. Guests came from different leaders of other organizations, the PPP and other civic leaders. Kudos to Carlos and Dr. Norma Caramanzana for a great party.
The main guest speaker was the representative of GEN. EGAY AGLIPAY, in the person of Mr. Noehl Bautista.
The Overseas Filipino Council International are very appreciative of all the donated goodies for the party, especially bags of gifts from the PRA, whose mission jibes with out OFCI's "Help the Overseas Filipinos" and Self Help Nutrition in every Filipino home sweet home, especially for returnees and retirees.
