The Bangus Harvest - November 11, 2008

I never knew what to expect when I accepted the invitation of Don Isidro Aligada to join him and his crew for a BANGUS HARVEST.  I think the lure of a BOUQUET OF FLOWERS made me accept the invitation  if nothing else.  I made sure I was ready for the boat ride, and I  got myself a beautiful straw hat. Did I bring  a suntan lotion?  I am pretty sure I did.

and the things we did last summer, I remember.... Don and Dona Isidro Aligada our great hosts. Please enjoy the music while your party is being reached!!!!!

Cardona, what a change of scenery from the usual congested streets in the cities. My strawhat and Corrie Leano.

Angel R. Pantoja was our tour guide to Cardona.  With us were Corrie Leano of London, Ric Mactal and MeAnn Pineda. We were met at the dock by Don and Dona Isidro Aligada and his crew and Gerel Roa also joined us.  That was the first time I sailed in a fishing boat.  The weather was beautiful, and I was hoping for a quick tan, and the trip reminded me of our yearly barge ride to watch the Hydroplane races in Puget Sound, but this time there were no blond flashing from the other boats.  We reached the  house in the middle of the Bay where plenty of “Inihaw” and the biggest’ bangus ‘we can imagine ready for us to devour.  I felt so hungry just looking at the delicious foods and what was more inviting was the ‘Kamayan way.’  Don Isidro sure knows how to win a lady.

Now, please join us, let us have an experience of a lifetime, wished you were there with us.

Angel Pantoja, Meann Pineda, Ric Mactal and I think that was me.

Water Lilies everywhere. They are a sight to remember

I still had the Jet Lag. What do you expect?

THE BANGUS HARVEST

Closing in on the net....

And there were plenty of Bangus waiting to be harvested.

and in the Boat they went...

Corrie fell sorry for the Bangus, they might get the chill.

FROM THE FISHING BOAT, WE GOT TO THIS HOUSE AND ANGEL MADE SURE I DIDN'T GET FED TO THE SHARKS.

AND LOOK HOW BIG THAT MONSTER IS, I MEANT THE FISH. WE HAD AL KINDS OF INIHAW, DON ISIDRO HAD GOOD COOKS, AND THERE WAS ALSO MUSIC.

AND NOW THE BLESSINGS, OH GOD, PLEASE LET ME HAVE THE 'TIYAN OF THE BANGUS, I HOPE CORRIE DIDN'T GET IT FIRST."

AND WE TASTED EVERYTHING....

THE TSUNAMI CAME, AND THE FOOD WAS GOOD TO THE LAST DROP, AND FINGER LICKING GOOD. I GAINED 50 POUNDS.
